Glassblowing Experience - Private 1:1 Tuition

Our experiences will be on a short summer break due to prior commitments and family leave. We’ll be back and taking bookings again from Saturday 15th August.
We apologise for any inconvenience and we hope to be running at full speed again later this year!
This is a private 1:1 session between you and professional glassblower James Stewardson, making it ideal for beginners or those looking to develop their skills at the torch.
Please note: this is a one-to-one workshop and we are unable to accommodate additional guests or spectators.
James has over 10 years’ experience in glassblowing and creates a wide range of work, from decorative sculptures and jewellery to marbles and functional glassware.
Under his guidance, you’ll use a torch (also known as a lamp) to create your own glass pieces based on your interests. Lampworking allows you to work closely with the flame and glass, offering a hands-on and immersive experience.

- At least 1 bespoke handmade glass piece made by you.
- At least 1 additional bespoke piece made by James for you.
This workshop takes place at our studio, a 3-minute drive from Hawkshead.
Duration guidance
2-hour experience
A great introduction to lampworking, covering the basics and giving you time at the torch.
4-hour experience
A more immersive session with additional demonstrations from James and significantly more time creating your own work. Ideal for those who enjoy getting deeply into hands-on craft.
