Dichroic Leaf Pendant

This unique pendant is made by using a thin piece of dichroic glass, which is coated with microlayers of metallic oxides.

The dichroic is encased in clear glass, shaped into a leaf shape and backed with a rich black glass to enhance its depth and brilliance. Made by local glass artist, James Stewardson.

The photo shown is the pendant that you will receive - it comes with an 18" silver-plated chain. Approximately 70 mm (h) x 45 mm (w).

NASA developed dichroic glass in the 1950s and 1990s for use in satellite mirrors and space shuttle re-entry tiles. The glass's microscopic metal content protects spacecraft instruments from cosmic radiation and human vision from unfiltered sunlight.
